Insulation Properties of our Buildings

Insulation Properties of our Timber Buildings & Lodges

Our buildings exceed the required thermal qualities for building regulations and go a long way in reducing on going energy costs.

The double insulated wall conforms to the highest heating insulation requirements. Double insulation is accomplished by installing alternate vertical and horizontal layers of insulation materials.

In the construction industry one of the ways the energy efficiency of a building or material is judged by comparing its U-Value, i.e. the rate at which thermal energy is conducted through a building or material. The lower the U-Value, the better the insulation.

The U-value measures how well a building component, e.g. a wall, roof or a window, keeps heat inside a building. Our standard building design enables us to construct buildings to a Code Level 4 which is well above the current requirement.
