Educational establishments are facing new challenges on many fronts – not least the Extended Schools initiative, provision of pre-school childcare and the need to increase student numbers. These all put pressure on increasingly stretched budgets, resources and also space.

The recent School Building Programme cuts have also added pressure to find a more cost effective solution to replacing/extending existing buildings or erecting new facilities.

Timberworks Europe can provide solutions to at least some of these problems and are doing so for a number of educational establishments. We supply bespoke, high quality, affordable timber buildings individually designed to meet a wide range of needs and applications.

• Ecologically sound – Where better place to start informing children the importance of responsible building practices than in the classroom. All our timber is from certified sustainable sources and finishes include wood fibre insulation and paper breather membranes.

We can design our buildings to BREEAM standards to include;

• Sustainable insulation (fitted as standard)

Our buildings are perfectly suited for a number of renewable energy solutions – Underfloor heating, ground, air and water source heat pumps & solar thermal systems.

• Erected quickly – The majority of the building is prefabricated off site which minimises time and inconvenience on site – this suits holiday time builds. Typically an 80-100m2 building can be completed in 1 month, although this will vary with specification and location.
• Built to order - we provide versatile, individually designed flexible accommodation to meet specific requirements and use. Our buildings can be clad in timber, brick or render to suit you and the planners.
• User friendly – Wood is perfectly suited to the requirements of educational establishments. It is aesthetically appealing, thermally efficient, durable and sustainable.
• Acoustic qualities - Wood has excellent soft acoustic qualities (sound absorbent) and provides the ambience and levels of calm so important to educational space.
